What happened to RebirthRO?
There is conflicting information online about who built RebirthRO and where it continues. This is Syphon's account, kept short and checkable.
The short version
RebirthRO opened in 2004 and never closed. Its founder and its developer parted ways, the developer kept the parts of the infrastructure he had access to, and rather than fight over a name the founder relaunched the server as RevivalRO.
The game did not restart and the community did not scatter. Loki is the same pre-renewal server it always was. If you are here because you played RebirthRO years ago and want to know whether there is still something to come back to, the answer is yes, and it is at ragnarevival.com.

The longer version
Origin, 2004
I founded RebirthRO in 2004 and funded and ran it from the start: infrastructure, hosting and development. Remy (Ancyker) joined later as a developer. He was neither a co-founder nor an owner.
The split
When our working relationship ended, Remy kept the parts of the infrastructure he had developer access to, including the original Discord server, and has since presented his own server and look-alike domains under the RebirthRO name. None of those sites or Discords are operated by me.
The continuation
Rather than contest the name, I relaunched the server as RevivalRO. Loki keeps the classic pre-renewal RebirthRO game; Freya adds Renewal content. Same founder, same team, same community, and development continues there today.
Where the community is
RebirthRO has always been strongest in Southeast Asia, above all in the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia, with players across Europe and the Americas too. RevivalRO runs on dedicated hardware behind regional proxies, so latency stays low wherever you log in from.
How to verify: the original domain, rebirthro.com, has stayed with me since 2004. Open it and it brings you here. This site and ragnarevival.com are the two official sources. Any other site presenting itself as RebirthRO is not run by the founder.

- 2004
Syphon launches RebirthRO as a pre-renewal Ragnarok Online private server: classic gameplay, fair rates and no pay-to-win pressure. He funds and runs the infrastructure, the hosting and the development from the start.
- Growth
RebirthRO becomes one of the best-known pre-renewal servers in the world. Its largest communities are in the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia, with players across Europe and the Americas. Remy (Ancyker) joins during this period as a developer, neither as a co-founder nor as an owner.
- The split
The working relationship between Syphon and Remy ends. Remy keeps the parts of the infrastructure he had developer access to, including the original Discord server. The rebirthro.com domain, registered in 2004, stays with Syphon.
- RevivalRO
Rather than spend years contesting a name, Syphon relaunches the server as RevivalRO. Same founder, same team, same community, and development continues without a gap.
- Loki
Pre-renewal classic at 255/120 carries the original RebirthRO game forward, along with the custom content built over the years: Cedi, Royal Dispatch, the MVP Arena and instances such as Endless Tower, Nidhoggur's Nest and Hall of Abyss.
- Freya
A second server adds Renewal EP21 "Age of Heroes" with 3rd and 4th jobs, Doram and Android support. PC and Android players share one world, and one account covers both servers.
- Today
Both servers run around the clock on dedicated hardware behind regional proxies and receive ongoing content updates. rebirthro.blog remains the official hub for downloads, Discord access and server information.
If you are coming back after years away
Start on Loki. It is the pre-renewal server, it runs at 100x/100x/20x with the cap at 255/120, and the mechanics underneath are the ones you learned. Your muscle memory still works.
Make a fresh account at ragnarevival.com, take the client from the download page and pick the proxy nearest you. The whole thing is free, as it has been since 2004.
Then join the official Discord. A lot of the people you played with are in there, and the fastest way to find out what changed in the years you missed is to ask someone who stayed.

Because contesting the name would have cost years that were better spent on the server. Syphon relaunched under a name nobody could argue about and kept building. The game on Loki is the same game; the sign above the door changed.
