Overview
What Is War of Emperium on RebirthRO?
War of Emperium (WoE) is the premier guild-vs-guild content in Ragnarok Online. Guilds compete to conquer castles by breaking the Emperium crystal, then defend it against other guilds.
WoE Basics
Objective: Break the Emperium crystal in a castle to claim it for your guild
Defense: Once you own a castle, defend it from attacking guilds until WoE ends
Duration: WoE runs for a set time window — when it ends, whoever holds the castle keeps it
Rewards: Castle owners gain access to exclusive guild dungeons and treasure boxes
Participation: You must be in a guild to participate in WoE
WoE 1 vs WoE 2
WoE 1 (First Edition): Classic castle maps — Prontera, Geffen, Payon, Aldebaran, Arunafeltz. Simpler castle layouts, good for newer guilds learning WoE mechanics.
WoE 2 (Second Edition): Advanced castle maps with barricades, guardians, and supply points. More strategic depth — defending guilds can repair barricades and place guardian stones. Requires better coordination and class composition.

Every class has a role in WoE. Understanding your job in the guild lineup is the difference between winning and losing castles.
Emperium Breakers
Primary classes: Assassin Cross, Lord Knight, Whitesmith
Job: Rush to the Emperium room and break the crystal as fast as possible
Key stats: High ASPD, elemental weapon matching Emperium weakness
Gear focus: Speed, damage, and survivability to reach the Emperium room alive
A good breaker can win WoE in seconds. Practice your route through each castle layout.
Support & Healers
Primary classes: High Priest, Arch Bishop, Professor
Job: Keep the guild alive with heals, buffs, Pneuma, and status recovery
Key skills: Heal, Sanctuary, Assumptio, Pneuma, Dispel, Land Protector
Positioning: Stay behind the front line, near the Emperium when defending
Support classes are the backbone of any WoE guild. Without them, even the strongest attackers fall.
Damage Dealers & Crowd Control
AoE damage: High Wizard (Storm Gust, Meteor Storm), Warlock, Ranger (Arrow Storm)
Single-target killers: Sniper, Assassin Cross, Guillotine Cross
Crowd control: Clown/Gypsy (Tarot, Scream), Stalker (Strip skills), Champion (Asura Strike)
Tanks: Paladin (Devotion to protect key members), Royal Guard
Coordinate AoE timing with your guild leader. Stacking Storm Gust and Meteor Storm on chokepoints is the most effective area denial strategy.

How to Attack a Castle
Breaking into a defended castle requires coordination, timing, and a clear plan.
Offensive WoE Strategy
1. Scout first: Send a fast character to check the Emperium room and count defenders
2. Stack at the entrance: Gather your full guild at the castle portal before pushing in together
3. AoE the chokepoints: Wizards and Rangers clear defenders from narrow halls and corners
4. Devotion the breaker: Paladins protect the Emperium breaker with Devotion
5. Rush the Emperium: Once the path is clear, the breaker rushes in while DPS holds off respawning defenders
6. Block recalls: After breaking, immediately set up defense to prevent instant recapture
Communication is everything. Use Discord voice chat during WoE for real-time calls.
Defense Strategy
How to Defend a Castle
Holding a castle is often harder than taking one. Proper positioning and quick reactions win defenses.
Defensive WoE Strategy
1. Set up guardians: Place guardian stones and barricades (WoE 2) to slow attackers
2. Chokepoint control: Position AoE casters at narrow corridors leading to the Emperium room
3. Pneuma the Emperium: Priests cast Pneuma on the Emperium to block ranged breakers
4. Strip incoming breakers: Stalkers use Full Strip to remove breaker gear on sight
5. Recall system: Guild leaders can recall members to the castle if it is under heavy attack
6. Emergency Safety Wall: Priests cast Safety Wall on the Emperium as a last line of defense
Rotate defenders between the entrance and Emperium room. Never leave either unguarded.

Steps to Start WoE
1. Reach max level or close to it — WoE is end-game content, use the leveling guide
2. Build a proper WoE gear set — different from PvE gear, focus on reduction and resistance
3. Join a WoE guild through Discord — most guilds recruit there
4. Practice in PvP rooms to get comfortable with player-vs-player combat
5. Show up on time — WoE starts at a fixed time, being late means your guild fights short-handed
6. Follow your guild leader's calls — discipline wins more castles than raw power
