RebirthRO is a Ragnarok Online private server. Syphon started it in 2004 and still runs it today under the name RevivalRO. Loki is the classic pre-renewal server. Freya is the Renewal one, and that plays on Android too.

Classic pre-renewal

Loki has never gone Renewal. No renewal damage formula, no inflated HP pools, just the original mechanics with two decades of quality-of-life work layered on top.

Global proxy network

Proxy servers cover Southeast Asia, Europe, South America and North America. Pick the nearest one in the patcher. There is no extra setup, and players in the United States and Canada connect through the North America proxy.

Free, with no pay-to-win

Free since 2004. The cash shop sticks to cosmetics and convenience, so there are no stat advantages sitting behind a paywall on either server.

Founder statement

A note from Syphon, founder of RebirthRO

There is conflicting information online about who built RebirthRO and where it continues. This is my account, kept short and checkable.

Origin, 2004

I founded RebirthRO in 2004 and funded and ran it from the start: infrastructure, hosting and development. Remy (Ancyker) joined later as a developer. He was neither a co-founder nor an owner.

The split

When our working relationship ended, Remy kept the parts of the infrastructure he had developer access to, including the original Discord server, and has since presented his own server and look-alike domains under the RebirthRO name. None of those sites or Discords are operated by me.

The continuation

Rather than contest the name, I relaunched the server as RevivalRO. Loki keeps the classic pre-renewal RebirthRO game; Freya adds Renewal content. Same founder, same team, same community, and development continues there today.

Where the community is

RebirthRO has always been strongest in Southeast Asia, above all in the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia, with players across Europe and the Americas too. RevivalRO runs on dedicated hardware behind regional proxies, so latency stays low wherever you log in from.

How to verify: the original domain, rebirthro.com, has stayed with me since 2004. Open it and it brings you here. This site and ragnarevival.com are the two official sources. Any other site presenting itself as RebirthRO is not run by the founder.

    Syphon launches RebirthRO as a pre-renewal Ragnarok Online private server: classic gameplay, fair rates and no pay-to-win pressure.

  2. Growth

    RebirthRO becomes one of the best-known pre-renewal servers, with its largest communities in the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia and players across Europe and the Americas.

  3. The split

    After the working relationship with developer Remy (Ancyker) ends, Syphon relaunches the server as RevivalRO. The original rebirthro.com domain stays with Syphon.

  4. Loki

    Pre-renewal classic at 255/120 continues the original RebirthRO game, with custom content built over the years: Cedi, Royal Dispatch, the MVP Arena and custom instances.

  5. Freya

    A second server brings Renewal EP21 "Age of Heroes" alongside PC, with 3rd and 4th jobs, Doram and Android support.

  6. Today

    Both servers run 24/7 on dedicated hardware and receive ongoing content updates. rebirthro.blog remains the official hub for downloads, Discord access and server information.

Classes and builds on Loki

The pre-renewal job tree, exactly as veterans remember it. Everyone starts as a Novice; where you go from there is the first real decision you make.

Swordsman → Knight / Crusader

Your frontline. Knights hold a mob in place with high HP and wide area skills, while Crusaders trade some of that for holy damage and party defence. Pick one if you want to lead the pull and take the hits.

Mage → Wizard / Sage

Glass cannons. A Wizard can clear a screen of mobs with one well-placed spell. Sages go the other way, with support magic and utility nobody else has. Expect to die a lot until you learn where to stand.

Archer → Hunter / Bard / Dancer

Damage from a safe distance. Hunters lay traps and never stop shooting. Bards and Dancers are the ones guilds argue over, because their songs lift everyone's damage and movement at once.

Acolyte → Priest / Monk

Somebody has to keep the party standing, and it is usually a Priest. Monks take the same starting point somewhere else entirely: fists, combos and a lot more burst than people expect.

Merchant → Blacksmith / Alchemist

The money classes. Blacksmiths forge and refine gear, Alchemists brew potions and raise homunculi. If you enjoy watching a market more than a boss timer, start here.

Thief → Assassin / Rogue

Fast and mean. Assassins open with poison and crit through most of a health bar. Rogues strip gear and shut skills down, which counts for more in WoE than the damage numbers suggest.

Loki, the pre-renewal server, runs 100x base EXP, 100x job EXP and 20x item drops, with max level 255/120, max stats 255 and max ASPD 196. Freya runs 30x/30x/10x at max level 275/70. These rates put Loki in mid-rate territory: fast enough to be fun, slow enough that reaching 255 still means something.

Loki, the classic RebirthRO server, is Windows PC only. Freya, the Renewal server, also runs on Android 8 and above using the same account as PC, and PC and Android players share one game world. No Mac client is provided; emulation or a virtual machine may work but is not officially supported.
